A ring that fits slides on easily and needs a little push to come off over the knuckle. Here is how to find that size at home in five minutes.
What you need
- A thin strip of paper about 10 cm long
- A pen
- A ruler with millimetres
How to measure
- Wrap the strip around the base of the finger you want to wear the ring on.
- Mark where the paper overlaps, then lay it flat and measure to the mark in millimetres.
- Match the number to our size chart: 52 mm is a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8 and 59 mm a 9.
Three mistakes to avoid
- Measuring cold fingers first thing in the morning, when they are at their smallest.
- Pulling the strip too tight. It should be snug, not pinching.
- Forgetting the knuckle. If your knuckle is wide, choose the size that passes over it.
Between two sizes? Choose the larger one, especially for a wide band.
